Level: All levels are welcome but some painting experience is helpful.
In this 2-day workshop, Kris will help students evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their photo references for paintings. Students will then do sketches that include a value plan before executing the final watercolor painting.
Bring your work to life from photo- to sketch- to finished piece!
Students should bring a lunch and beverage.
Watercolor Paper. Recommended: Arches 140lb
12” H x 9” W Sketchbook. (Aquabee’s, Bee Paper Professional Series- Heavy weight drawing paper for Wet and Dry media or similar)
Drawing Pencils and kneaded eraser
Black and gray double ended markers. (Wide nib at one end and fine nib on the other end.) Prismacolor, Coptic or similar.
Tube watercolors, palette, and brushes that the student likes to use.
Painting board (Gator Board), two plastic containers for water, and a roll of paper towels.
